Google My Business product lead Tom Pritchard said in a blog post that business owners can create posts, reply to reviews, add photos and update their business information directly via Google Maps and search.
They must first sign in with the Google account that was used to verify their business.
On Maps, tapping the profile picture in the top-right corner of the mobile application and selecting Your Business Profile will grant access.
On search, businesses can be looked up by name, or owners can search “my business.”
The new functionality debuted in English, with more languages to be added in the coming months.
Google Maps and search also added a revamped performance page, where business owners and managers can see new customer interaction insights. It will be refreshed on a monthly basis.
The data and insights will be available via an upgraded merchant interface, which will also offer recommendations on how businesses can improve their presence on Google.
Pritchard wrote, “When it comes to your business’ online presence, putting your best foot forward matters. And with more than 15 million edits made to Business Profiles each month, we know how important it is to quickly make changes so your business information on Google is engaging and up to date—from adding a phone number to sharing Covid-19 safety requirements with customers.”
