Symone Sanders, a senior campaign adviser to Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, said on Sunday that recent economic gains are indicative of a “K-shaped” recovery that benefits the wealthy.

“It is going well for folks at the top, but for folks who are middle class or below, it’s going down,” Sanders said on “Fox News Sunday.” “The question really is, is this working for working families, and the answer is no.”

Sanders noted that while numerous white-collar workers have been able to work from home during coronavirus-related shutdowns, she and Biden are thinking about truck drivers, cashiers, autoworkers and others “who are at higher risk of shortened hours but also higher risk of being exposed” to COVID-19.
