Suspicious, Kinsman Road:

A caller told a woman on Aug. 25 that $1,028 was charged to her Amazon credit card account. She noted the caller’s phone number, hung up and checked her accounts, which had no fraudulent charges. She also received a call earlier in the day from a someone using a different number attempting to obtain money for a grandchild in trouble. She recognized both as scams and did not give out her personal information

Warrant served, Russell Road:

An officer on patrol 5:15 p.m. Aug. 26 checked a license plate and found the driver was wanted by the Geauga County sheriff’s office. He was arrested and turned over to a deputy. His parents were contacted and picked up his vehicle.

LYNDHURST, Ohio — Aggravated robbery: Kneale Drive

At 11:40 a.m. Aug. 26, a resident called police when the housekeeper of a next door neighbor appeared at her house asking her to do so. The housekeeper, 68, of Middlefield, told police that she had answered a knock at the door, believing it was the postman.

Instead, three males were at the door and forced their way into the home. One of the men had a gun and used it to hit the woman on the head. The woman was then tied with a rope. The men were in the house for about 20 minutes and stole an unknown amount of money before leaving in a car.

The woman managed to untie herself and run to the neighbor’s house. She did not want medical attention. Police are investigating.
