Aug. 18 — To the Editor:
I am a born and raised Granite Stater and a NH small business owner, and before I heard about Emmett Soldati running for Executive Council’s District 2 seat, I had no idea what the Executive Council even was. (And I’m sure I’m not alone).
New Hampshire is the only state with a five-person board who advises our Governor on issues impacting our state. Since people are less familiar with this board, the five Council seats are often retained by the same establishment players year after year. On Sept. 8, there will be six Democratic candidates for the District 2 seat, and I’m asking you to vote for a NEW Councilor, Emmett Soldati.
Emmett represents the voices who haven’t always had a seat at the table, and like myself and many others, Emmett is a small business owner. I am constantly inspired by his progressive vision, his collaborative approach, and his commitment to seeing other NH-based small businesses thrive. He is also NOT afraid to stand up for the smaller voices in the room and take action. (He just beat Facebook in the NH Supreme Court last month over user rights – and he represented himself. Need I say more?) Most of all, Emmett knows that real change doesn’t come from lip service. During the shutdown, he went out of his way to help other small businesses succeed, even hosting weekly Zoom sessions to ensure everyone knew how to navigate their PPP application process.
It is for all of these reasons and more that I think we need Emmett Soldati’s voice in Concord and on this Executive Council. If you live in District 2, check him out and consider supporting him on Primary Day, Sept. 8. You can read more about Emmett at www.EmmettSoldati.com. Thank you.
