At a meeting of the Congress’s Parliament Strategy Group ahead of the Monsoon Session, the opposition party decided to keep the focus of attack on management of Covid-19 and the economy. The party will also oppose 11 Bills which will replace Ordinances that were recently promulgated, demand a White Paper on the situation at the border with China and seek a discussion on the draft new education policy.

The panel has decided to pull up the Centre, on the first day itself, for cancelling the Question Hour. It will organise novel protests after discussions with like-minded parties. “Cancellation of the Question Hour hasn’t happened before. We will find out ways to raise this in both the Houses,” a senior leader told BusinessLine after the meeting.

The meeting, chaired by Congress president Sonia Gandhi, was also attended by Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma and Manish Tewari who had recently signed a

The coronavirus pandemic has shone a spotlight on working conditions worldwide, including a major focus on which employees have had to continue working in person with fewer protections than others. Often, these employees come from marginalized communities that are already disproportionately affected by the virus.

While the pandemic will not be with us forever, many people from marginalized communities will continue to face higher barriers to employment and live with the effects of cycles of poverty long after it is over. Consumers, however, are increasingly taking notice of — and punishing —companies that fail to employ and provide protections to vulnerable populations.

Many companies, Certified B Corporations prominently among them, are strategically hiring people from these communities. These companies are using new and innovative business practices to effectively support their workers, from open

GREENACRES, Florida — The only source of income for a single mother of four in Florida is her children’s lemonade stand.

Her kids are between the ages of six and 10, and Erin Bailey said she goes with them each day to sell what they can to try to make ends meet.

“We are the best team in the world. That’s for sure,” she told WPBF.

Bailey said her family, and sometimes her friends, had been doing this for months.

“They wanted to save up money for certain toys and things that they wanted,” she said.

Bailey used to run a lawn care business, but after the COVID-19 pandemic hit, customers stopped calling. She couldn’t find a new job because there was nobody to watch her kids since schools were closed.

“Things just got really difficult,” Bailey said. “We started selling the lemonade to make sure we have what we

google phone verified calls
  • Google is bringing its Phone app to more Android phones starting this week.
  • Verified Calls is also rolling out to screen for spam and scams.
  • The call checks will initially be available in the US, Brazil, India, Mexico, and Spain.

After plenty of testing, Google’s new Phone app is reaching a wider audience — and it might just help you deal with a flood of spam calls. The internet giant has confirmed that the Google Phone app is coming to “even more” Android hardware starting later this week, along with Verified Calls.

Verified Calls isn’t like other call verification systems, which mainly check that the listed phone number is the real source of the call. Google’s approach instead shows when it has verified a business or institution. You’ll know if it’s really your bank calling, for instance. Callers can also provide reasons that will appear on your screen, such as

The unexpected onset of the coronavirus pandemic initiated an abrupt transition to crisis online learning.

While some children perform well in their virtual classrooms, not all children respond the same. For instance, although D.C. mom Tiffany Settle’s third-grader excelled using the District of Columbia Public Schools’ remote classroom, her seventh-grade son struggled after transitioning to online learning.

The first step toward recreating the Empire has been taken.

Rob Keefe, who led the Albany Empire to the 2019 Arena Football League championship, was announced Tuesday as head coach of the Albany franchise in the National Arena League.

“We’re going in the right direction,” co-owner Ron Tridico said of the yet-unnamed team.

Tridico, who also owns the NAL’s Orlando Predators with business partner Nate Starling, made it clear early on that he wanted Keefe to lead the squad.

The hope is that Keefe can lure many of the players who produced a title 13 months ago at Times Union Center will return to play in Albany. The Empire’s hopes of defending their title were dashed with the AFL filed for bankruptcy and ceased operations in November.

“The players, the minute that they thought Albany was coming back a few months, they were in contact with me,” Keefe said by
